Tuesday the 4th October we had arranged to meet with Michelle (Brother Guy's second daughter) for a tour of London sights especially Westminster which we had missed on our previous visit to London.
This tour gave us the opportunity to spend a little personal time with Michelle and catch up on news of her family. The last time we saw Michelle she was only a few weeks old so naturally we wanted to fill the gap to a degree and get to know one another on a more personal level. We were keen to hear about Michelle's plans for the future and of her many travel experiences. Both Ronnie and I had planned to travel when we were young but circumstance had altered our life course. Neither of us have any regrets about the direction our lives have taken but often wonder what it would be like to do this trip that we have undertaken, as a young person.
Needless to say I was excited to be out and about on foot for the most part as I do like to push the boundaries a bit (not always a good thing and it has seen me land in hot water on more than one occasion, much to the dismay of my Bonnie Ronnie). Michelle was the most gracious and considerate hostess, allowing for frequent rest stops but my stubborn streak kicked in and I pushed myself just a little too hard and on top of the previous few days, the steps in the underground almost finished me. I was out of commission both Wednesday and Thursday but am today (Friday) back to normal and fully recovered, just in time for the weekend.
The architecture is stunning as you will see from some of the photos. The parks are great and we all seemed to have a fascination with the local wildlife which we were able to capture through our camera lenses, got-to love this new digital age!
