We are almost halfway through our journey, speaking in terms
of duration. In distance we are well and truly over the halfway mark having
travelled more than half way around the globe. We had some wonderful times in the UK, seen a little of
the countryside, Scotland and the Channel Isles, met a lot of really nice people
but most memorable has been the time we have spent with our family, both new
and old (figuratively speaking of course).
As with all good things our time here has come to an end and
while this is a little sad, we look forward with great anticipation, excitement
and joy to continuing our adventure through Europe and on to Africa where we
will meet and share time with the bulk of our family.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those people
we have met during this quest who have shared their valuable time with us.
Ronnie and I feel so enriched by the experiences because it is the quality of
this time shared rather than the quantity, which is so important to us.
We decided to have a close family farewell dinner on our
last Friday night at the local pub (in consideration of Louise’s condition),
additionally we were invited to a Saturday lunch by Vanessa and her family so
that the whole family could get together before our departure. I think it’s
safe to say that there were a few surprises but a good time was had by all.
